At ARRO, we believe in starting small and maintaining control in order to get it right for our riders. That's why we will be reviewing our distribution strategy in 2023, when we have a larger stock available.

Currently, we hold stocks and spare parts in New Zealand, Australia, and the United States. Our focus for now is on providing the best possible products and service to our riders, and we will be exploring retail partnerships and other distribution options in 2023.

Our goal is to provide riders with access to our products while ensuring that we maintain control over the quality and experience that riders have with ARRO Helmets.

When it comes to helmet standards, it's important to understand that they are not all the same. Just like horses competing at different levels of show jumping, there are varying standards that helmets can meet.

The highest standard in the industry is Snell E2021, which is a rigorous and difficult standard to meet. In fact, we estimate that 99% of helmets on the market are unable to meet this standard. The Snell standard is unique because it tests against round objects, such as show jump poles, trees, railings, and posts. This makes it an ideal choice for equestrian riders looking for the highest level of protection.

At ARRO we hold the Snell, PAS015, VG1 and the new European EN1384, which is only slightly higher than the older European VG1 and is of a lower standard than PAS 015 and Snell.

Safety Tip 1: If a helmet features a plastic buckle, it generally indicates a lower standard. On the other hand, Snell-certified helmets usually incorporate steel buckles for enhanced helmet retention.

Safety Tip 2: Helmets equipped with a dial tend to be of a lower standard as well. While dials are convenient, Snell's high standards for additional head coverage currently prohibit us from reducing the rear head coverage to accommodate a dial.

A suprising fact is that the majority of riders (including ourselves initially) didn't realise that helmets do not protect against concussion.

Helmet manufacturers around the world also state this on their websites, i.e. no protection against concussion.

Concussion is a mild traumatic brain injury so needs to be taken seriously and we see it happening all the time.

For concussion, we have teamed up with MIPS https://mipsprotection.com/ who specailize in this field, please note though that this does not mean that with MIPS they protect 100% against concussion!

MIPS works on "certain angled impacts", intended to help "reduce" rotational force to the head, it does not fully eliminate concussion.

MIPS is only one part of our overall helmet protection/safety, because we believe it can help on certain impacts we use it, it is one part of six parts ARRO have around safety.

At ARRO we if we see something that can potentially help, we spend the money and use it. We didn't have any budget/cost restrictions when we designed and built this helmet, if we believe it helped, we just did it.

At ARRO, we prioritize safety and only recommend helmet-mounted devices if they have been thoroughly tested and evaluated in our lab to assess the potential impact forces and injury risks. If you plan on using a camera with your helmet, please contact ARRO to confirm if it has been approved.

Our helmets are made from a combination of carbon fiber and kevlar for strength, but we remain cautious about attaching devices to the helmet. The point load created by mounting a device can potentially compromise the helmet's protective capabilities. Although our helmets have earned the highest safety rating from Snell, we still take a cautious approach to ensure the safety of our users.

Please note certain paints or solvents of any kind can damage a helmet so that its protective capabilities are significantly reduced. It is not worth taking the risk so contact our friendly staff first.

ARRO recommends replacing your helmet every 3 to 5 years, depending on frequency of use. For everyday riders, we recommend replacing your helmet every 3 years. If your helmet has had minimal use, it can be used for up to 5 years. In the event of a fall or accident, it is recommended to replace the helmet immediately, as damage to the internal structure may occur, even if it is not visibly apparent. For full details, please refer to the Owner's manual.

Avoid exposing the helmet to direct sunlight or storing it in a hot car, as the heat can cause damage to the materials and potentially compromise its ability to provide adequate protection in the event of a crash.

Keep the helmet in its hard EVA case, in a cool and dry place, away from direct sunlight and potential sources of damage. This will ensure that your helmet remains in good condition and ready for use at all times.

Cleaning Your Helmet
Helmets are made of materials that can be damaged by many commonly available cleaners. Petroleum based solvents or cleaners are especially dangerous. They can damage a helmet so that its protective capabilities are significantly reduced. Many times this damage is not visible. For best results, clean the helmet using a soft cloth or sponge, warm water and mild soap (such as a mild dish soap).

Lice Removal

Here’s a simple, effective way to get rid of them:

1. Do not use spray of any type.
2. Place the helmet into an airtight plastic bag for 48 hours. Then, remove the pads and use a soft cloth or sponge, warm water and mild soap to clean the surface.
3. Discard the pads and plastic bag (keep bag out of reach of children due to suffocation hazard) contact ARRO for replacement inner liners & pads.

Remember: Never wear a helmet that’s been involved in an accident.

The ARRO helmet features a standard and large visor that is designed with safety in mind. Our breakaway visors are engineered to break away in the event of an impact, ensuring the helmet stays on your head rather than potentially shifting in a fall.

Fixed peak visors are banned in XC in the UK, and we at ARRO share this belief. We believe that fixed peak visors pose a dangerous risk (including hyperflexion of the neck), and we strive to prioritize the safety of our riders above all else.

Our breakaway visors are made with the highest standards in mind and are more expensive to produce. However, we believe in the importance of this design and are committed to delivering a helmet that truly cares for your safety.

Additionally, the helmet can be worn in cross-country mode without the peak, providing even greater versatility and options for riders. At ARRO, we prioritize rider safety above all else and make decisions based on what we believe is best, not what is easiest or most cost-effective..

Please note, spare parts are available to purchase and it is important not to hold the helmet by the breakaway visors as it is designed to break away for your safety. Our patented design ensures that our breakaway visors are the best in the industry.

Our helmets offer versatile protection with interchangeable visors. Choose from a wide brim (available as an optional accessory), a standard visor, or wear it without a visor for a customized fit. If you don't like the wide brim look, simply remove it for a different style. With three different wearing options, you have the flexibility to choose the one that suits you best. Note: Wide brim visors are sold separately and are designed to break away in the event of an impact.

C3 and C3D have the bracket for the chin bar, the C4 and C4S do not.

C4 and C4S have a different Mips system to the C3/C3D - the C4 model have the plastic insert as opposed to the Mips dots.

C4/C4S has a deeper fit.

C4/C4S liner does not have pockets for shims, as the Mips system as changed we can now use helmet fitting tape - easy to purchase if needed - contact the ARRO team to discuss fitting and sizing

The interior liner is fully removable and machine washable. For the carbon fiber exterior, simply wipe with a damp microfiber cloth to maintain the high-gloss or matte finish. Avoid using harsh chemicals.
